Teenagers’ Experiences of Life in Lockdown (TELL)
TELL is a research project led by The University of Manchester and Liverpool John Moores University. It aims to understand 16- to 19-year-olds’ experiences of the UK lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project places particular emphasis on this age group's wellbeing. Click here to watch a film exploring some of the challenges faced by 16- to 19-year-olds in lockdown and how they have been coping. The teenagers in the film share their own advice on how to care for your mental health and wellbeing in lockdown. UK-based 16- to 19-year-olds can share their thoughts on the film for the opportunity to enter a prize draw for an iPad (information on the website). Reachwell aims to provide scientific evidence that might help to redress this imbalance. The website contains brief blogs about mental health in relation to Covid-19 primarily aimed at policy makers but written to be accessible to all. Recent posts include:

  • Dr Maria Loades: Lockdown loneliness in children and young people may continue to impact on mental health for years to come.
